O World Nature Photography Awards anunciou seus vencedores em 2020, e a competição provou ser uma celebração maravilhosa da Mãe Terra.

2020 foi um ano desafiador para muitos, mas nada poderia ser mais edificante do que ficar maravilhado com a beleza do mundo natural ao nosso redor”, escreveram os organizadores.

Os participantes competiram em 13 categorias. Suas imagens e legendas revelaram que a pandemia não diminuiu nem a paixão nem a paciência para capturar nosso planeta.

No final do dia, o título de Fotógrafo da Natureza Mundial do Ano foi para Thomas Vijayan por sua foto "O mundo está de cabeça para baixo".

The World Nature Photography Awards announced its winners in 2020, and the competition proved to be a wonderful celebration of Mother Earth.

"2020 was a challenging year for many, but nothing could be more uplifting than being amazed by the beauty of the natural world around us," wrote the organizers.

Participants competed in 13 categories. Their images and captions revealed that the pandemic has not diminished neither the passion nor the patience to capture our planet.

At the end of the day, the title of World Nature Photographer of the Year went to Thomas Vijayan for his photo "The world is upside down".

“Eu tinha esse quadro em mente, então, para fazer essa foto, primeiro selecionei uma árvore que estava na água para que eu pudesse ter um bom reflexo do CE, o que faz a imagem parecer de cabeça para baixo. Então, subi na árvore e esperei horas. Este é um caminho normal para os orangotangos cruzarem para outra pequena ilha, então eu senti que teria certeza de obter este quadro se esperasse pacientemente. Foi uma tarefa difícil, mas o resultado final valeu a pena. Borneo é o paraíso dos fotógrafos. Eu realmente gostei de filmar em uma parte tão intocada do mundo.”

“I had this picture in mind, so, to make this photo, I first selected a tree that was in the water so that I could have a good reflection of the CE, which makes the image look upside down. So I climbed the tree and waited for hours. This is a normal way for orangutans to cross to another small island, so I felt I would be sure to get this picture if I waited patiently. It was a difficult task, but the end result was worth it. Borneo is a photographer's paradise. I really enjoyed shooting in such an untouched part of the world. ”
